Whiplash is the common term for Injuries sustained during Car Accident. This refers to damage done during abrupt deceleration to the muscles, ligaments, tendons, discs, nerves, nerve roots and vertebrae of the neck as the result of sudden hyper-extension and hyper-flexion of the neck.
Whiplash is a very common condition and is most often associated with car accidents, but can be caused by a variety of different activities such as contact sports, amusement park rides, blow tho the head and more.
What are the Symptoms?

- Pain; deep and dull with sharp and stabbing spells with motion.
- Neck stiffness and back stiffness.
- Neck injury most commonly will cause headaches.
- Eyes pain from bright light.
- Pain in arms and hands.
- Tingling or numbness in arms and hands.
- Muscle spasm and tension.

- Inability to fall asleep or stay asleep.
- Dizziness and/or vertigo.
- Nausea or vomiting.
- Blurred or altered vision.

- Pain between shoulder blades.
Symptoms may appear immediately after the whiplash injury or there may be a delayed onset of symptoms. This is because onset of inflammation may take several weeks or even longer. Patients that do not receive professional treatment, massage is not a treatment for whiplash injury, will start feeling pain 3 to 5 years after the accident. This is because during whiplash your soft tissue inside your body sustains micro tears (like small cuts from paper or knife). These micro-tears cause scar tissue formation in your joints, discs, muscles etc. If these scars form in moving parts they will cause friction, inflammation, pain and accelerated wear and tear of these joints.
